You can try out the Windows-only Video Converter for free, but a watermark will appear throughout your video. If you're serious about converting and joining a video, purchase the program for US$39; the variety of supported file formats makes it worth it.
Click the To AVI or To DVD or To MP4 or To MPEG or To WMV or To 3GP or To MOV or To SWF or To RM button along the top of the interface.
Click the uppermost Browse... button on the right. Navigate to the location where you keep your video files. Select video files you would like to join. Click Open.
Click the Advanced button at the right bottom corner and make sure that Split isn't checked.
Note: Check Split and point Batch Mode if you want to convert your video files separately without any alteration.
Note: Check Split and point Split by Markers to separate video files by pointed markers (click the Edit button on the top to add markers).
Click the bottom Browse... button on the right. Choose the location where you would like to save your joined video file. Click Save.
In the list of Profiles select one of the available profiles or click Edit Profile button to set the output video profile parameters manually.
Click Convert Now and step away from the computer (processor performance will be seriously affected during conversion). If you want to watch the progress while you join, click the Advanced button until the viewing screen pops out of the bottom.
