How to put a movie to a PowerPoint Presentation?

Sometimes you need to place a movie to your PowerPoint Presentation but the following message pops up: "Powerpoint could not insert a movie from the selected file. Either the file is non-standard, or quicktime is not installed properly"

The matter is in your movie format. In fact WMV is the native Windows video format. So it's easy to get rid of the error message - just convert your video to WMV format before placing it to your slide show.

There are two ways to convert video to wmv format:

  • Free 3GP Video Converter

Use it to convert your video to AVI format.

Then convert it to WMV with Windows Movie Maker. This program is already installed on your computer. Just click Start->All Programs->Windows Movie Maker
  • AVS Video Converter

You can use AVS Video Converter to convert your video directly to wmv format. It's easier than the first way, but this software is paid.

Then place converted wmv movie to your presentation.

That's all!
