Even when the files are deemed to be lost, they often can be backed out.

The data-file which was deleted in Windows by a usual way can be easily restored (providing its place on a hard drive is not replaced by something else).

Free Recuva program is the best tool for such tasks.

It will scan the data carrier and back out the lost data-file by few mouse clicks.

Note: you should not save Recuva and the recovered files on the same carrier or disk to avoid loosing the data-file you need to restore.
