As you see looking at the name of the program, AbiWord is a solely text processor and there are no other office applications here.

The main advantage of the software is its small size (only 6 Mb) and a small footprint. Due to such advantages the software can be used as part of Portable Apps and to be started even from a USB flash stick.

The program supports many languages and has many different dictionaries, including swear words. So be careful when typing business letters in AbiWord.

The functionality of AbiWord is not rich, but if you need only to type a text, AbiWord would be more useful than even OpenOffice.org.

Note: when you start the program for the first time, do not forget to switch on an autosave (Service-Parameters-Documents), otherwise you will loose all data. For some unknown to us reason, the autosave is off by default.
